Author Guidelines

RHR invites original essays based in theory and informed of philosophical perspectives. We encourage interdisciplinary approaches for illuminating the topic and discussion. We do NOT invite policy papers and/or papers based in quantitative method as we do not have expertise in these fields. We accept three types of submissions a) Full length Articles (Max. 8,000 words), b) Focus Articles (Max. 4000 words), c) Book Reviews (Max  1000 words). RHR practices a double-blind review process. Because submissions are evaluated anonymously, the author’s name should appear only on  the title page. Electronic versions of the manuscript should be submitted as Microsoft Word. Full Length Articles should ideally not exceed 8,000 words, including notes, tables, etc. All article submissions should include an abstract no longer than 120 words and a brief author bio. Previously published work or work currently under consideration elsewhere will not be reviewed.

  • Submission can be made directly (if encountering problem with the portal): syedraza@hawaii.edu

     Method of Citation and Reference

RHR follows the Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition). RHR uses end notes as the method of citation. Manuscripts not submitted in accordance to these standards may not be considered for review.

     Policy on Plagiarism

RHR follows HEC’s (Pakistan) policy on plagiarism, which is itself designed on the model of COPE’s ethical guidelines. RHR believes that plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) is unacceptable. We check for plagiarism through the Turnitin

     Peer Review Process

Our review process is explained in a Flow Chart. Broadly speaking there are three major stages.

A) Desk Review: It involves a preliminary review by one of the members of the editorial board and the review is communicated to the author in about a week.

B) Double Blind Peer Review: it is the second stage and the manuscript is sent for a double-blind peer review to two academics in the related field. This stage takes about 4 to 6 weeks. The reviewers can recommend for acceptance, revision, or declining of the manuscript.

C) Publication: It is the third stage in which the editor sends the manuscript for preparation of page proofs and final publication.

Articles

In this section the editor invites orginal research articles for publication. The orginal articles will be peer-reviewed and published online as soon as they are ready. The theme and topics are open and could be found in our CFP in Announcement Section.

Focus Essays

Focus Essays are not peer reviewed unless the editor thinks the need for getting a review. The length of a focus essay varies from 1500 to 4000 words. It should be noted that a focus essay is not a research Article or equivalent to it. The aim and purpose of publishing Focus essays is to get initial ideas and new concepts published, copy-righted, and circulated. We look at the potential for further development of those ideas/concepts into fulfledged research articles later.

Interview, Talk, & Webinar

RHR also publishes highquality interviews, talks, and webinars. These categories published after editorial board's review. They are not sent for double-blind peer review.

Book Reviews

In this section the editor invites book reviews, which will be published after single blind peer review.
